Bereavement, and the quieter griefs — lost health, lost roles, lost communities, lost versions of a life you expected to have.
One-to-one reflective counselling with Sharon Mackenzie — for people untangling grief, relationships, boundaries, identity, faith, belonging and change. Warm, unhurried and human, with room for the parts that are still hard to say.

About this sessionEnquire about a private sessionNot a list of conditions — just the kinds of things people arrive holding.
Bereavement, and the quieter griefs — lost health, lost roles, lost communities, lost versions of a life you expected to have.
Untangling the patterns that keep repeating, and finding language for what you need and what you will no longer carry.
Confusing, painful or destabilising experiences — space to slow them down and make sense of them at your own pace.
When a workplace, community, organisation or church that was meant to hold you became the place you were harmed — space to name it, without having to prove it first.
Who you are when the roles fall away, and where you fit when the places you belonged to have changed.
Faith is welcome here, and so is doubt. We go only as far into it as you want to — never further.
Endings, beginnings and the unglamorous middle — work, family, health, ageing, moving, starting again.
01
Send a short email describing what is going on. There is no form to perfect and no need to have it worded well.
02
We talk about what you are hoping for, how you would like to work, and whether this is the right fit for you.
03
We work at your pace — some people come for a season, others for a handful of conversations.
Booking, cancellation and privacy details are set out in the practice policies.
Sharon is a counsellor and reflective practitioner. The work is conversational rather than clinical: it pays attention to your story, your relationships and the systems you live inside, and it takes seriously that context shapes people.
You will not be handed a diagnosis or a programme. You will be listened to carefully, offered honest reflection, and helped to find language for patterns that have been hard to name — so you can decide what you want to do differently.
Where it is useful, the practice’s wider work — frameworks on grief, belonging, community health and human systems — can be brought into the room. Where it is not, we simply talk.
If you are in crisis
Counselling is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger in Australia, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Email Sharon with a little about what is going on, and she will reply with the next step.
